“Stand Together: Empowering Students Against Bullying” – A Day Workshop
This carefully orchestrated workshop aims to equip students with the protection, knowledge, skills, and support systems necessary to address and prevent bullying in their school community. Through interactive activities, discussions, and reflection, students will develop resilience, new methods for conflict resolution and effective strategies and communication for “standing up” against bullying. A useful and reliable tool to have before entering a new school, social obstacle or for additional awareness.
Daily Outline:
Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
- Introduction: Icebreaker activity to create a sense of belonging as a “team” and set the tone for the day.
- Understanding Bullying: Presentation and discussion on the definition, types, body language, psychology and impact of bullying. Interactive activities to explore the perspectives of both victims and perpetrators.
- Empathy Building: Role-playing exercises and group discussions to strengthen on-the-spot communication, resilience, cultivate empathy and understanding towards others’ experiences.
Lunch Break (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
- Effective Communication: Activity on assertiveness and conflict resolution skills. Role-playing scenarios to practice assertive communication techniques.
- Building Resilience: Interactive activities and guided reflections on building resilience and coping strategies when faced with bullying.
- Creating a Supportive Community: Group discussions on inclusivity and empathy within the school community. Brainstorming ideas for peer support initiatives and anti-bullying campaigns.
- Closure and Reflection: Closing circle to reflect on the day’s learnings and set personal goals for promoting kindness and standing up against bullying.
